Threatened/Endangered Species and Special Plants & Animals List Updates

Recent updates to the following: Threatened, Endangered, and Rare Plants List; Threatened and Endangered Animals List; Special Animals List; Special Vascular Plants, Bryophytes, and Lichens List

The "link opens in new windowEndangered, Threatened, and Rare Plants List (PDF)," "link opens in new windowEndangered and Threatened Animals List (PDF)," link opens in new windowSpecial Animals List (PDF)," and "link opens in new windowSpecial Vascular Plants, Bryophytes, and Lichens (PDF)" have all been updated. No changes to federal Endangered Species Act listing status have occurred since the previous updates, but the following taxa have been declared candidates for listing under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA):

  • Northern California Summer Steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss irideus)
  • Crotch bumble bee (Bombus crotchii)
  • Franklin’s bumble bee (Bombus franklini)
  • Suckley cuckoo bumble bee (Bombus suckleyi)
  • Western bumble bee (Bombus occidentalis occidentalis)
