The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) will hold an online outreach meeting to take comments and recommendations from licensed hunters regarding hunting programs on the Yolo Bypass and Grizzly Island wildlife areas.

With wild turkey populations flourishing in many parts of California, spring turkey season continues to be one of the most anticipated hunting opportunities of the year. California’s general spring turkey season opens statewide March 29 and runs through May 4.

California’s wild ring-necked pheasant season opens Saturday, Nov. 9, and for the second consecutive year, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) will collect genetic tissue – a tongue clip – from hunter-harvested wild birds at select state-operated wildlife areas and federal refuges.
