Do I need a permit to fish for market squid commercially?

commercial squid, commercial permit, commercial license, limited entry fishery, FGC 8100

Yes, there are two types of market squid permits: a brail permit and a vessel permit. Both of these permits are limited entry. "Limited entry fishery" means a fishery in which the number of persons who may participate or the number of vessels that may be used in taking a specified species of fish is limited by statute or regulation (FGC §8100). More information is available on CDFW's commercial fishing webpage.
