As a requirement of the passage of Senate Bill 414 in 2015, the Technical Advisory Committee convened a task force to evaluate the feasibility of using vessels of opportunity for oil spill response in marine waters. Based on the task force’s work, on July 28, 2016, the Technical Advisory Committee provided the Administrator and the Legislature final recommendations (PDF) and a report (PDF) on whether vessels of opportunity should be included in oil spill response planning.
