The Shoreline Protection Tables (PDF)(opens in new tab) identify sensitive sites to be protected, the hour by which they must be protected, and the response resources required to provide this protection. The purpose of the Tables is to provide response standards by which vessels that transit through California coastal waters can follow to ensure best achievable protection of sensitive sites of California's shorelines.
OSPR is currently evaluating an improved method of illustrating the response resource requirements and timeframes in a manner that is more clear and user friendly, and that would streamline the updating process to be consistent with the varying area contingency plan updates.
Pre-Rulemaking Scoping Sessions
OSPR hosted two in-person scoping sessions in June to present on the proposed changes, solicit feedback, and answer questions. If you were unable to attend either of these, but would like to receive information (including the proposed regulation changes and/or FAQs), please email Cassidee.Shinn@wildlife.ca.gov.
Check back here for updates on this future rulemaking change. Please consider subscribing to email notices of all OSPR rulemaking actions at the Laws and Regulations web page.
