Taking aggressive action to protect communities, consumers and the environment alike, Governor Gavin Newsom has directed the creation of a new multi-agency, cross-jurisdictional taskforce of enforcement agencies designed to better coordinate agencies combatting illegal cannabis operations and transnational criminal organizations

Warden Austin Smith has been named 2021 Wildlife Officer of the Year, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife announced.

During the week of July 18, wildlife officers served a search warrant near the town of Bradley. The warrant was part of an investigation into illegal cannabis cultivation.

Multiagency operation served 34 search warrants in southern Trinity County.

CDFW, Department of Cannabis Control and State Water Resources Control Board have aligned their cannabis enforcement teams for the 2022 watershed protection season.
