Today CDFW released its Draft 2022 Proposition 1 Restoration Grant Programs Proposal Solicitation Notice (PDF) for public review and input. Comments may be submitted to WatershedGrants@wildlife.ca.gov. The deadline for public comments is Friday, January 21, 2022 at 4:00 PM PDT.

CDFW will also host an online public meeting (PDF) on January 19, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. PDT, to review the draft solicitation and gather comments from the public.

CDFW announced the selection of 15 projects to receive $9.7 million in funding through the Fisheries Restoration Grant Program (FRGP). These awards were made in response to the 2021 Fisheries Habitat Restoration Grant Solicitation, which received 61 proposals seeking more than $35.9 million in funding.

CDFW is now accepting Proposition 1 consultation requests for its 2022 solicitation. Requesting a consultation is optional and not required to apply. Potential applicants may use the Consultation Request Form to request a consultation with CDFW staff.

Consultations provide an opportunity to learn more about CDFW’s Proposition 1 Restoration Grant Program and ask questions of CDFW staff. CDFW encourages prospective applicants to request a consultation early, as appointments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please join the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) for a public meeting on Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., where we will provide an update on CDFW’s new Cutting the Green Tape Program, including an overview of CDFW’s role in the new California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Statutory Exemption for Fish and Wildlife Restoration Projects.

Natural Resources Deputy Secretary for Biodiversity and Habitat Dr. Jennifer Norris and CDFW Director Chuck Bonham will kick off the meeting, and CDFW staff will then provide updates on these important initiatives.

California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s (CDFW), Cannabis Restoration Grant Program (CRGP) released the Qualified Cultivator Funding Opportunity, Proposal Solicitation Notice (PDF) (Solicitation), and is now open for pre-application submissions. All pre-applications (Word) must be submitted to the CRGP email at: canngrantprogram@wildlife.ca.gov and are accepted on a scheduled basis through spring of 2023.

CDFW will also host an online public workshop (PDF) on October 21, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. PDT, to provide an overview of the Solicitation and the multi-phased application process. Details can be found on the CRGP webpage.

CDFW’s Cannabis Restoration Grant Program (CRGP) is now accepting concept proposals in preparation for the Qualified Cultivator Funding Opportunity, Proposal Solicitation Notice (Solicitation). The Solicitation is scheduled for release in fall of 2021 and will be open for applying until spring of 2023. A link to the project consultation request form and more information can be found in the Concept Consultation Request Notification (PDF). CRGP anticipates holding a virtual public workshop in fall of 2021 to go over the concept proposal opportunity and Solicitation. Details to follow and will be posted on the CRGP web page.

The 2021 North Coast Coho Recovery Proposal Solicitation Notice (PDF) outlines the priorities and requirements to apply. This Solicitation is part of CDFW’s Cutting the Green Tape Initiative to increase the pace and scale of restoration through permitting and granting efficiencies.

The deadline for pre-applications is September 30, 2021, by 4:00 p.m. PDT. Applications must be submitted via CDFW WebGrants. All applicants are required to submit a pre-application proposal to be eligible for submittal of a full application.

CDFW will host an online pre-application workshop (PDF) on September 8, 2021, to review the application process. This workshop is optional and not required to apply.
