    CDFW’s Habitat Conservation Planning Branch’s would like to announce that CDFW has approved the Final Kaweah Groundwater Subbasin Regional Conservation Investment Strategy (RCIS), the seventh RCIS approved under the Regional Conservation Investment Strategies Program. This RCIS promotes the conservation of sensitive species, habitats, and other natural resources overlapping Tulare County and parts of King County. The RCIS includes goals and objectives for wildlife and habitat conservation, as well as actions and priorities which can guide investments in ecological resource conservation and potential opportunities for compensatory mitigation for impacts to species and other natural resources. The Final Kaweah Groundwater Subbasin RCIS may be found on CDFW’s Draft and Approved RCIS Program Document web page.

Attend the Virtual Public Meeting on California's White Sturgeon Fishery

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is holding a virtual public meeting on California’s White Sturgeon fishery on May 16, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. At this meeting, you’ll learn about White Sturgeon biology, fishery history, current status and management, and challenges they face. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask CDFW scientists questions about sturgeon and provide input on their present and future hopes for the fishery.

To participate, register for the online meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
