Regulations

  • A hunting license and wild pig validation are generally required to take wild pig in California.
  • General Season: Open all year.
  • Bag and Possession Limit: There is no daily bag or possession limit for wild pigs.

Hunting Licenses and Validations

Reporting for Wild Pig Validations

Hunters are required to report their of wild pigs in the Automated License Data System (ALDS) within 60 days of the end of the license year.
Reporting requirements include the number of pigs harvested by month and by county (T14 CCR 708.13).
Reporting for the 2024-25 license year becomes available in ALDS on July 1, 2025 and reporting is due by September 1, 2025.

Tehama Wildlife Area

  • Pig hunting on Tehama Wildlife Area is held concurrently with the G-1 deer hunt. Any person who has a deer tag (G-1) and a TWA access permit may take pigs during the hunt period. See the Tehama Wildlife Area page for further information.
