Grant Application Opportunities and Notices

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is excited to announce $2 million is available for projects that will develop or enhance Mojave Desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) recovery. Proposals are by Dec. 3, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. through the CDFW WebGrants Portal. CDFW will hold an online public workshop on Nov. 4, 2026, to provide an overview of solicitation including eligible activities, program requirements, and granting process. Workshop attendance is not a requirement for submitting a proposal. Workshop details will be posted on the CDFW Public Notices and Meetings page.

The 2026 Fisheries Restoration Grant Program (FRGP) solicitation closes Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST. 

CDFW is now accepting full applications for projects under FRGP. The 2026 FRGP Proposal Solicitation Notice (PSN) (PDF) and 2026 FRGP Guidelines (PDF) outline the priorities and requirements to apply. Applications must be submitted via CDFW WebGrants.
