California Inland Recreational Angler Survey (CIRAS)

The California Inland Recreational Angler Survey (CIRAS) provides the public with helpful fishing information powered by data submitted by anglers.

CIRAS offers anglers a web-based user-friendly experience, data transparency, and immediate access to data summaries through an interactive dashboard. CIRAS represents a paradigm shift for how we gather, process, store, and share information regarding California’s diverse fisheries, getting information to anglers to help inform their fishing trips faster than ever before.

Anglers can submit data for any fishable inland or anadromous water, statewide. Currently there is a pilot outreach effort in Region 2 (Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Lake, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sierra, Sutter and Yuba counties, plus parts of Sacramento, San Joaquin and Yolo counties). This outreach effort will be expanded statewide upon conclusion of the pilot phase.
