On this page About WRGB WRGB Programs Contact WRGB About WRGB The Watershed Restoration Grants Branch (WRGB) administers grant funding and oversees CDFW's Cutting the Green Tape Program to deliver science-informed grants for restoration of ecological function and conservation, and assesses the success of those efforts at a large-scale. Grant programs administered by WRGB include restoration programs funded through bonds (Proposition 1 and Proposition 68), the Fisheries Restoration Grant Program, Nature Based Solutions, and restoration programs supporting water and habitat resiliency to drought and climate challenges. WRGB Programs New Initiative Restoration Grant Programs New grant programs supporting resilience to drought and climate, and Nature Based Solutions. Prop 68 Restoration Grant Programs These three grant opportunities support Rivers and Streams, Southern California Steelhead, and Fish and wildlife. Prop 1 Restoration Grant Programs These two programs support multi-benefit ecosystem and watershed protection and restoration projects. Fisheries Restoration Grant Program In partnership with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) this program aims to recover and conserve salmon by providing grants for restoration of anadromous salmonid habitats in coastal and central valley watersheds. Boating Access Grant Program This program provides funding for projects that increase access to recreational boating opportunities across California's waterways. Wetland Restoration for Greenhouse Gas Reduction Grant Program This program restores coastal wetlands, Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta wetlands, mountain meadows, and desert ecosystems to achieve greenhouse gas emission reductions and provide other co-benefits. Cutting the Green Tape Program CDFW’s Cutting the Green Tape program is a statewide effort, increasing the pace and scale of restoration through improvements to environmental permitting and grant funding programs.
