Interpreter Series
If you have a passion for environmental education and public outreach, then dive into our Fish and Wildlife Interpreter series to be on the front lines of our sustainable conservation efforts! Our team of interpreters perform a variety of protect California’s diverse wildlife and the habitats.
We have a varied set of tasks and responsibilities in our work, from creating and developing interpretive projects to collaborating with partners to disseminate information about habitat improvement projects. Our Fish and Wildlife Interpreters play a critical role in helping the community learn and feel comfortable in green spaces. Whether that is to coordinate aquatic education programs, lead nature hikes or develop programs to advance fishing related events. Each project contributes to the greater mission of environmental stewardship.

Environmental Scientist Series
Are you graduating with a degree in a natural sciences field? Are you ready to navigate the environmental landscape with ingenuity and resourcefulness? Do you want to bring your knowledge to apply to the natural sciences field? Or are you looking to use your natural resources experience to start a new career? Environmental Scientist is a great career that has a variety of interesting fields! In this position you will gather information on environmental issues, perform environmental analysis, research, surveys, investigations, and prepare reports.
CDFW has the responsibility to protect the habitat for waterfowl, tule elk, black-tailed deer, mountain lions, black bears, Chinook salmon, bighorn sheep, monarch butterflies, among many other species! There are over 60 exciting units that help support this mission that you can be apart of including the Habitat Conservation Cannabis Unit, the Oil Spill Prevention and Response Unit and the Marine Unit.
