Hill Slough Wildlife Area is approximately 1,700 acres of salt tidal marsh, managed marshes, sloughs and upland grassland. The area supports a wide variety of waterfowl, including pintail, mallard, shoveler, green-winged teal, and wigeon. Raptors such as northern harriers, white-tailed kites, kestrels, and red-tailed hawks can be seen hunting the grasslands. Raccoons, jackrabbits, and voles make their homes here and may provide a meal for the coyotes that hunt and live in the wildlife area.
