MRPDA Advance Mitigation Analysis Process

Three Forms of Advance Mitigation

There are currently three methods which allow for mitigation to be implemented in advance of project impacts for later use in the form of credits. Conservation and Mitigation Banking is the most common. The others are Mitigation Credit Agreements, and Connectivity Advance Mitigation.

MRPDA’s role in Advance Mitigation

The MRPDA Team conducts essentially the same analyses for advance mitigation lands as described for permittee responsible mitigation. However, there are some additional steps, sometimes a different order of the steps, and specified timelines for some of the forms of advance mitigation. See the Conservation / Mitigation Banking Guidelines (PDF) for more information.
