The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is now accepting proposals for the Fiscal Year 2026/27 Boating Access Proposal Solicitation Notice (PDF). Proposals are due by 4:00 p.m. on November 7, 2025, through the CDFW WebGrants Portal.

CDFW will hold an online Public Workshop (PDF) on October 2, 2025, at 10:00 am, to provide an overview of the Boating Access Program, including eligible activities, program requirements, and granting process. Workshop attendance is not a requirement for submitting a proposal.

The CDFW Invasive Mussel Response solicitation is open until May 23, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. PDT. Applications must be submitted electronically via CDFW’s WebGrants System. The grant guidelines, application preview, workshop presentation, and a questions and answers document can be found on CDFW’s golden mussel page.

Background:

  • CDFW is offering $1 million in grant funding to boating facility operators to enhance efforts against invasive mussels, particularly the threat of golden mussels.
  • This funding supports projects that help prevent the introduction and spread of invasive mussels in lakes, reservoirs and waterways, ensuring the long-term health of state waters.

Open Solicitation: Golden Eagle Conservation Grant 2025-2026

CDFW is now accepting applications for projects under a one-time Golden Eagle Conservation Grant to promote golden eagle conservation primarily in the Altamont Pass Wind Resource Area in Alameda and Contra Costa counties, as well as the Tehachapi Wind Resource Area in Kern County. The Public Solicitation Notice (PDF) outlines the background, eligibility information and grant requirements, schedule and review process, and includes Appendix A: Project Statement and Budget Worksheet (Word)

Applications must be submitted by email with the subject line "Golden Eagle Conservation Grant 2025" to R3CESA@wildlife.ca.gov by June 16, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. PST.

The 2025 Fisheries Restoration Grant Program (FRGP) solicitation is open until April 17, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.

CDFW is now accepting full applications for projects under FRGP. The 2025 FRGP Proposal Solicitation Notice (PSN) (PDF) and 2025 FRGP Guidelines (PDF) outline the priorities and requirements to apply. Applications must be submitted via CDFW WebGrants.
