Inland Deserts Region The Inland Deserts Region offers some of the finest trout fishing in the state. CDFW manages fishing opportunities partly through a hatcheries program where fish are raised to plant various waters. Hatcheries are a great place to visit and see how fish are raised, and for kids to see fish close up. The main product of this Region's hatcheries is trout, which are planted in local waters.
