In eastern Ventura County and along the Santa Clara River, Fillmore Hatchery raises trout for stocking Southern California waters. Surrounded by citrus and avocado orchards, the Fillmore area offers excellent fresh fruit vendors along Highway 126. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy the Los Padres National Forest, just north of the Santa Clara River valley. Fillmore Hatchery gets its water from a combination of springs and wells that provide excellent temperature and quality for raising trout.
