The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) announced today that it is launching a summer strike team in partnership with federal and local agencies to combat livestock depredations by gray wolves in Siskiyou County and the Sierra Valley (spanning both Sierra and Plumas counties).

Sept. 7 is California Biodiversity Day, an annual event marking the anniversary of the launch of the California Biodiversity Initiative in 2018. Fisheries biologist releases white sturgeon during CDFW sturgeon monitoring study in Suisun Bay

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has initiated a status review for white sturgeon (Acipenser transmontanus) and hereby solicits data and comments on the petitioned action to list this species as threatened under the California Endangered Species Act.
