CDFW Values: Our Life is Wildlife

At the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, we're not just about scales and tails; we're on a mission to protect, conserve, and cherish our state's precious natural resources. Our waters run deep with dedication as we strive to preserve the splendor of our wildlife and habitats for generations to come.

Fin-tastic Integrity

We hold ourselves to the highest standard, like a trout fighting against the current. With transparency as clear as a mountain stream, we navigate the waters of responsibility and accountability with unwavering honesty and integrity.

Redwood-rooted Collaboration

Like the towering redwoods that stand as sentinels of strength and unity in our forests, we foster collaboration deeply rooted in our commitment to protecting native flora and fauna. Together, we cultivate a forest of ideas, intertwining diverse perspectives to nurture a thriving ecosystem of innovation and progress.

Otterly Empathetic

Compassion flows through our veins like a river, warming the hearts of both humans and wildlife alike. With empathy as our compass, we champion inclusivity and understanding, recognizing the interconnectedness of all living beings.
