Gray Wolf Updates

Jan. 20, 2012: Wolf OR7 made a substantial (> 10 miles) dispersal in a southerly direction over the past 24 hours. We will update our website map early next week after we get a new set of coordinates for wolf OR7's travels.

Jan. 19, 2012: Apparently the cloud cover was not continuous this morning. OR7 remains in the same general area of eastern Lassen County as of 0600.

Jan. 18, 2012: OR7 remains in the same general area of eastern Lassen County. The weather forecast for Lassen County calls for rain and snow through at least next Tuesday. Consequently, we may not have additional information until the weather clears. Based on past experience, OR7 is capable of considerable movement in that time frame. We will provide updates when we have them.

Jan. 17, 2012: Over the weekend, OR7 has remained in the same general area of eastern Lassen County. One possible interpretation of the satellite data is that he is remaining in this particular area because he is taking some time to eat something he has either killed or found.

Jan. 14, 2012: Wolf OR7's location over the past 24 hours has remained essentially unchanged. He remains in eastern Lassen County.

Jan. 13, 2012: Over the past 24 hours OR7 has continued to move generally east and is now in northeastern Lassen County. As we have said previously, we cannot predict his next movements or where he will be at any point in the future. In the past we have observed that he may return to Oregon or travel east into Nevada. He is much closer to Nevada at this moment than he is to Oregon.
