Kern River Hatchery, located along the Kern River just north of Lake Isabella, is the future and historic site of rearing and releasing the native Kern River Rainbow Trout. This hatchery is also home to the Fishing and Natural History Museum, open during business hours.

Picnic grounds and restrooms are available.

Directions: From Bakersfield take Hwy 178 east to Lake Isabella, take Kernville exit, continue on to Kernville, turn left at Mtn Hwy 99/Sierra Way, follow one mile to hatchery. MAP(opens in new tab)
