The purpose of this meeting was to share information about CDFW's regulatory update to mitigation fees outlined in the Western Joshua Tree Conservation Act (Act). CDFW share the potential approaches, factors contributing to analysis of fees needed to conserve the western Joshua tree, and the fee regulation package process and timeline for 2026. Please submit comments related to the fee adjustment to WJTRegulations@wildlife.ca.gov by March 1, 2026 for document consideration. Please note, there will be more opportunities to comment on the fee adjustment process throughout 2026.
