The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has selected 23 ecosystem restoration and protection projects to fund under its Proposition 1 Watershed Restoration Grant and Delta Water Quality and Ecosystem Restoration Grant Program. The awards total $26 million.

Many of California’s wildlife rehabilitators have received much-needed financial assistance through the new Native Wildlife Rehabilitation Grant Program. Of the 84 permitted wildlife rehab facilities in California, 47 applied for and will receive funding totaling $547,000 in the 2022 grant cycle.

WCB approved an augmented grant of $20 million for construction of the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Overpass Crossing over U.S. Highway 101 in the Liberty Canyon area of Los Angeles County. At the same Aug. 26 quarterly meeting, the WCB approved approximately $26 million in grants for another 26 projects and announced two new board members.
