Wild pheasant, fall turkey and the second dove season will open on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, putting California’s fall hunting season in full strut.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has announced that the Shasta Valley Wildlife Area in Siskiyou County will be closed to waterfowl hunting for the entirety of the 2022-23 season as a result of lost wetlands and waterfowl habitat due to ongoing drought conditions.
For the first time in three years, grouse and mountain quail hunters should find the state’s national forests along with California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) properties mostly open for hunting when seasons begin Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022. That’s the good news.
