$41 million in grants were awarded for 20 restoration and protection projects throughout the state to benefit wetlands and meadows, Southern California steelhead and watersheds impacted by cannabis cultivation.

The Wildlife Conservation Board (WCB) approved 23 habitat conservation and restoration projects spanning 22 counties across nearly 7,891 acres at its Aug. 22 quarterly meeting.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Office of Spill Prevention and Response (CDFW‐OSPR) is accepting grant applications to fund projects that enhance, restore or acquire habitat for wildlife, with available funding totaling $5 million.

The Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation (RBFF) and CDFW announced the 2024 grantees for the George H.W. Bush Vamos A Pescar Education Fund. Approximately $172,800 in funding will help 12 programs in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas and Rhode Island to bring fishing, boating and aquatic stewardship education opportunities to Hispanic families.
