Fisheries biologist releases white sturgeon during CDFW sturgeon monitoring study in Suisun Bay

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has initiated a status review for white sturgeon (Acipenser transmontanus) and hereby solicits data and comments on the petitioned action to list this species as threatened under the California Endangered Species Act.

As the sun set over the San Pablo Bay June 10, CDFW, joined by faculty, staff and students from the California State University Maritime Academy, released approximately 1 million fall-run Chinook salmon smolts from the Cal Maritime campus in Vallejo.
