Oil Spill Response Organizations (OSROs), under contract to plan holders, are organizations which provide response equipment and personnel in the event of an oil spill. They are rated in accordance with their level of ability to deploy a certain amount of equipment within a set period of time in specific geographic areas. Each OSRO is evaluated through inspections and OSPR's unannounced drill program.
