Hunters can also chase chukar, snipe and quail statewide as these seasons opened in September and October.</p> <p>CDFW is offering a family pheasant hunt to a maximum of 30 hunters at the Little Dry Creek Unit, Upper Butte Basin Wildlife Area, on Sunday, Nov. 20. There is a $2.42 non-refundable application fee and the deadline to apply is Monday, Oct. 31. All hunters must apply through CDFW’s <a href="https://www.ca.wildlifelicense.com/internetsales/CustomerSearch/Begin" target="_blank">Online License Sales and Services</a> website or at a <a href="https://www.ca.wildlifelicense.com/internetsales/OutletSearch/FindOutlet" target="_blank">license agent</a>. Hunters can view their drawing results online approximately one week after the application deadline. Season dates also vary by species. To find more information on limits, regulations and season dates, please visit <a href="/Hunting/Upland-Game-Birds/Hunts">CDFW’s Upland Game Bird Hunting</a> website.</p> <p>Upland hunters are required to possess a valid California hunting license and a California Upland Game Bird Validation (not required for Junior Hunting License holders). Hunters pursuing migratory upland game bird species such as doves and snipe will also need a Harvest Information Program (HIP) Validation.
